Is there a way to make a change that only affects the revision number?

Document revision number

The revision number or any number of versions is completely up to the user while saving a document as a Draft or publishing whether they want to change the revision number or minor/major number.

The only difference is that if the user publishes the document as a major version, all consumers within the document must resubmit their acknowledgments.
