Release Notes: 2.36.0 Assessment Updates

Date released to Production: Friday, December 18th, 2020

  • Ability to mark as complete:

An assessment responder will now be able to mark a question as complete when they are completing an assessment. This not only enables the user to keep track of their progress with a visual indicator when they have fully completed a question, but also provides the same visual progress that can be seen by any internal or external auditors, or assessment requesters to know when it’s time to review responses.

  • Lock and Unlock question response:

With update 2.36.0, any internal or external auditor, or assessment requester, can lock and unlock question responses on an individual question, an assessment section, or all questions on an assessment. This powerful ability allows for the assessment responder and requester to work collaboratively in real time bypassing the need to wait to receive feedback on the entire assessment. This effectively allows the assessment requester more control over how they want to work through the assessment with the person who is responding to their assessment.

  • Inherited Controls evidence-type:

MyVCM now supports the ability for an assessment responder to input evidence that the compliance requirement is either fully or partially inherited. This functionality can be found when the user adds evidence to an assessment and selects the option on a new tab called ‘Inheritance’. The user can input an inheritance percentage, link to an Organization, add notes, or upload supporting documentation to explain the relationship with the 3rd party. Adding an inheritance will update the number of evidence on the assessment question.

  • Updates to the Assessment Import (Custom Description and Tag import):

MyVCM now supports using additional columns when importing an assessment to pull in additional description content, or tags on an assessment. When mapping the columns on an assessment import in the Description or Tags attributes, new options will display called ‘Custom Description‘ and ‘Custom Tag’. Custom Description allows the user to map to additional columns on a spreadsheet used for an assessment import to add additional information in the Description section on an assessment question. Custom Tags, allows the user to map to columns where additional tags can be added to an assessment question. This is particularly useful when using custom spreadsheets to map additional information into your assessment questions.
